The Beginnings of a New Smile
Do you need a brand new smile, but just don’t know where to begin? Are broken, missing teeth or ill-fitting dentures keeping you from being able to eat comfortably or even talk to your loved ones? A healthy smile is so much more than about how we look, it’s about how we go about our life each day.
What a lot of people don’t know about dentures, is that a properly made set will stay in place securely by using suction. You should never have to rely on adhesives or pastes to keep your dentures in place throughout the day. If you do, then something is wrong. Sometimes the dentures can be adjusted or relined, but many times it’s necessary to have a new set made altogether.
There are a variety of dentures available to the modern dental patient. Traditional dentures, partial dentures, and implant-retained dentures give patients options regarding their treatment. The newer implant-retained dentures take up less space, are easier to become accustomed to, and stay in place permanently because they are anchored into the mouth the way your natural teeth would be.
It’s important to take care of your dentures and clean them thoroughly each day. We also want our patients to visit Dr. Patel at least once or twice a year for an oral cancer examination, bone assessment, and exam of their appliance. We’ll even clean your dentures for you during your visit!
